I am trying to make my DSL connection more stable and I would like to rewire the telephone lines in my house. I have a large spool of CAT5 that I would like to use.
I have an older house and I'm sure the wiring is the original copper from when the line was first put in. I do not have a box anywhere to be found, it looks like my phone line just goes straight out the pole.
I am looking for information and diagrams on rewiring the telephone connection in my house. Any Links or books would be helpful!
I am familiar with working with electrical, LAN cabling but I'm not very familar with Telephone wiring.
I think I should be installing a box outside of my house to cut over the telephone line to. From there I would like to make a home run for my DSL connection then filter the rest of the house through one DSL filter. Any idea where I would get such a box? I have not had any luck finding them in the local hardware stores..
Thank you for any help you may be able to give!
