I have a three computer home network. One using XP and the other two using ME. When not all of the computers are turned on I have a very long delay when accessing My Network Places. When all three computers are on I am able to access them instantaneously. Whats going on??? On my old network with all ME machines I never had this problem. BTW I am using a Linksys router. Thanks

I assume you are using DHCP, assigning IP addresses automatically and not assigning nonroutable IP addresses.
Also if you happen to have a 2nd ethernet card in one of the machines that isn't being used, I suggest you disable it or give it an IP address in a different range that the network won't waste time trying to connect with.
Disabling it is the better way.

just like len said... when you open up my network neighbothood, it searches for and tries to connect to the machines that are not turned on. When the machines are not turned on it of course delays the process by not being able to connect.
