I have ATTBI cable and I get 2mb/300k

Me and my brother both play Unreal Tournament and a few months it started lagging when we both played at the same time.

It is not a routing issue or anything like that, I am positive of this as it only lags when we both join servers, and if we set our game's netspeed at like 3000 bytes the ping goes back to normal.

I tried limiting the MTU size of all the computers, and it seemed to work at first but then it went to crap again.

We used to play on full netspeed at the same time with no problems

UT uses a maximum of 7KB/s upload speed, and if we both upload at that speed our pings go to 400-2000

If we both join UT servers and I do a traceroute to anywhere, it shows 400 ping for every hop. Has anyone run into this problem and figured out a way to fix this, I can't believe I can upload at 35KB/s yet my whole network gets 400 ping. NOT FAIR!!!

I pay extra for IPs but they only allow 3 different IPs, so i have 2 computers directly on the hub, and 2 computers on a linksys router. I had this problem with 3 computers on the hub too.

When you're running UT, is it running choppy? Is your computer processing the graphics at full speed? Are you running naturally laggy maps (maps that has numerous polygons)?

Also, are you guys talking about demo or FV? If demo, then get a patch from http://www.3dgamers.com/dl/games/unrealtourn/serverupdate348.zip.html . It's supposed to better utilize bandwith (server).

Has nothing to do with my computer or UT. I have an Athlon XP 1700+ and I've been playing UT for 3 years, hell I'm one of the more known players of UT.

The game runs choppy only when i have to play on 3000 netspeed so me and my brother can both play at the same time :P

Vertigo hmmm, any chance of an answer here? Yes but you will not like it. Take the linksys router and give it to someone you don't like. Then order you a nexland 800pro turbo .set it up like this cable modem one cat5 line to the hub, then two cat5 line to the two wan ports on the nexland turbo, then cat5 or 6 line to each computer. Then no more problems at all!!!! You will not even know if your bro is on line or in a game.
I say this because I have two kids 16 and 14. That all they do is play games on line. I had the same setup as you with a 4 port linksys. So I know it will fix you problem But it will cost you about $360 or so, but you will not be sorry if you want both computer to do well in on line Tournament at the same time
