Help with IMAC on network

I have a home network with cable modem hooked into my Linksys router and 4 port hub. My roomate decided to buy a IMAC. It goes on the internet just fine through the modem, but when we try and share files it doesn't work. Is this even possible running it through a hub, or am I going to have to set a server up? I need to know if this is possible, mabe with some different protocols or something. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks.

You won't be able to share files or printers with a MAC and Windows PC unless:


Install and configure a 3rd party program like DAVE or PCMACLAN
Install and configure SAMBA if it is MAC OSX
Install and configure SAMBA to run on a Linux Box
Install and configure AppleTalk on Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server.
