help network problem ....
i was running a dedicated server for a gmae and the server keeps getting bumped offline through my belkin 4 port cable/dsl router(it says it has a built in switch.....nics are set at 100mb full duplex....(they were at 10mb half duplex, but it failed there also??)...i will be right in the middle of the game and the dedicated server gets bumped out......also on my sevrre a small not saying local area network cable is disconnected keeps showing up!!! even though it isn't disconnected....which results in me getting bumped....any ideas of how to fix this i am completely lost....i even installed netbui(sp?) on my win xp machine and win me machine ...along with tcp/ip.....please hlep???:(

have you tried checking or replacing your cabling? sounds like a loose or bad cable.

what kind of router are you using? Have you tried checking/replacing the wires, updating the firmware of the router? Is the NIC installed (set in place) properly? It may even be a problem with the NIC. Try swaping the NIC car as well.

Going by his post, it's a Belkin router. That would be one of the first things I remove, get something somewhat more robust in there, like a NetGear, or a Nexland.

if you want the fastest go with the http://www.nexland.com/products/product.cfm?id=6
The 8mb of throughput shred the competition making the ISB SOHO the fastest Home Router on the market!
