Hey, I've been readin these posts for a couple months now and
I have downloaded the Optimizer and used it as recommended for my connection, but I have found that the basic windows default
settings seem to be the smoothest loading I have used. Using the optimizer seems to make my loading of webpages load halfway and then kinda freeze up and then continue. Why can't I find some settings to make it load continuously without stopping? Any help is appreciated.

According to your profile your pc is quite old. That's prbably why you are having the problems you are, it can't process the information fast enough.:( ;)

Yes my computer is quite old, but I have used the optimizer and it works perfect sometimes, then I restore the default settings and try a different program and it doesn't work as good so I want to go back to the Optimizer settings, and it seems as though it's not getting the speed it used to have. I have gotten downloads of up to 100Kb/s on certain file sharing programs, and when I actaully test my speed it shows that I am very near my cap, but during actual surfing it doesn't seem to go anywhere near that fast. Now why is that?

Like I said, your pc can't process the web pages as fast as you can receive them. When you download a large file your speeds are probably fine, but web surfing is slow. It has been a debate here from some past members that cpu speed and amount of RAM have no effect on speed, well it does and this is a perfect example. You might try the tweak I posted earlier under "New Tweak" it might help a bit.:) ;)

You asked in the other post about what size RWIN, with your setup try 32120, 51100 or 64240.:) :D

WOW a help board that actually gives out help!!! I tried the 32120 RWIN setting and it has sped up my surfing dramatically. Now if I could figure out how to tweak my Opera settings to make it equally as fast. It has a spot for Max Connections to a Server, Max total connections, and network buffer size. Any ideas on what I should set these settings at? It also has a check box for Synchronous DNS, what is that and should I have it checked? Thanks again for the help.

Never used Opera so I don't know what to tell you, experiment with them and see. You might try Max Connections to a server 40 or 20 and Max Total Connections 99 (I'm not sure but worth a try).:) :D
