When enabling DMA through the Device Manager and chking the DMA boxCheck to see if it properly enabled.
To do this open file Mshdc.inf.This is found in \Window\Inf.
Nowscroll down to look for the header[ESDI_AddReg
[ESDI_AddReg]
HKR,,DriverDesc,,"ESDI Port Driver"
HKR,,DevLoader,,*IOS
HKR,,PortDriver,,ESDI_506.pdr
HKR,,IDEDMADrive0,3,01
HKR,,IDEDMADrive1,3,01
See the last two lines with the other three? Then your O.K.
If not add the last two lines & remove manually all IDE devices from Device Manager.
You will be asked to reboot and they will be detected by the controller & will set them up in DMA mode.:D
