I am installing a OnStream D130 tape drive on Windows 2000 Server.

The drive has been detected and the correct drivers installed but the is no drive letter for the drive in my computer.

There is no Echo software available for this drive for windows 2000 server that i can find. Is there another way to fully install this so i can use Microsoft Backup instead.

I have not restarted the server yet after the driver install, is this required for the drive letter to appear??

The tape drive will not show up as a fixed/removeable drive letter. It is a backup device only- not a writeable media drive, like a HD. You will need to download and install the Onstream driver for Win2K though.- it is here:
D130 drivers (http://www.onstream.com/support/win_drivers.html)

When you launch backup, it will show up as an available device. You don't have to use Echo- Win2K backup will work fine with it.

I have an SC30 on one of my W2K servers, and it works fine.
