everytime I boot up it goes to the screen like if you want to go into Safe mode.
Startup Menu
1. Normal
2. Loggeed (BOOTLOG.TXT)
3. Safe mode
4. Step-by-step confirmation
5. Command prompt only
6. Safe mode command prompt only
It's atomatically set for option 1. Normal and it counts down about 25 seconds. You can either hit enter or just wait and then it finishes loading up.
Any ideas? Thnx:) :) :) :) WIN 98 SE
Don't exactly remember but I think there is an option in the bios to have that enabled/disabled.

Usually you get that if it has been shut down improperly, try running scandisk and see if it fixes it.:)

Check msdos.sys files in the root of your C drive, BootGUI choice should be =1 I believe. On machines which you always want your boot choice, we set it to =0.
There's one other spot in Windows which tells it to boot that way, I came across a machine that had that issues a long time ago...so I'm forgetting where that one was.

You can also enable the startup menu in MSCONFIG.
Just go Start, run, msconfig than go to advanced and make sure
"enable startup menu " is unchecked.

mnosteele52, I did scandisk, no errors. didn't help but thnx :)
YeOldStonecat, I checked my msdos.sys file and BootGUI was set to 1, didn't help but thnx :)
Dave's World, you get the prize;) enable startup menu was checked. Not sure y but I think maybe I had checked it a while back trying to do something else.
I also checked my bootlog in the root of C drive and I have one failed component: ndis2sup.vxd (Windows virtual driver device)
LoadFailed = ndis2sup.vxd
If the network driver interface specification (NDIS) 2 support driver does not find any NDIS 2 drivers to support, the driver is not loaded. Link (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q127970)
Thnx for all the help:nod:
yo cybotron time to get XP ?????
:p

What do you have listed under network components? I'm guessing your DUN entries got thrown off....dial up adapter, dial up adapter # 2, VPN adapter. Which OS do you have?
