my road runner loses connection every 2hours

this is starting to get me mad, every 2 hours or so i lose my connection and get these errors in the event viewer in XP.

the only way i can get a new connection is to reboot.

try unplugging your modem for about 3 minute to let it reset...

or call your isp, it may be a line issue

Call your isp. They might be doing upgrades that your not aware of or they are having network issues. It happens. ;)

Worse case it could be your NIC. If the above isn't the case try troubleshooting your NIC. Let us know.

well i called road runner just now 'cause i lost connection again , 2 hours on the dot just like clockwork, and they had me shut off zone alarm then repair my local area connection. this worked

i did this before but never shut down zone alarm before so maybe i need to reconfigure my settings in zone alarm ??


i'll report back in 2 hours if this happens again ;)

could be a user error :p
