Getting RR...Which Modem Toshiba or 3Com?

Getting RR soon and my choices of cable modems is a Toshiba or a 3Com (Sharkfin).

Which do you guys think is the better choice and why?

Any praises and horror stories are welcomed.

Probably Toshiba. That seems to be the preferred brand among users. The 3com Sharkfin is a good modem too, though.

I agree with GLC1. but the reality is that you will probably get whatever is on the Road Runner cable techs truck. They still use the Motorola Cybersurfr on new installs in Columbus, for example.

Kip is right about that. I was just asuming that you were asking because you wanted to purchase rather than rent.
