I have never had this problem through any of the reinstalls of win98 but this is really getting on my nerves:mad:

When I open IE there is a stupid search bar under the addy bar, I can remove it through views/toolbars/ez searchbar and unchecking ez search bar, but what I want to know is how to get rid of it for good, so that I don't have to remove it everytime I open IE ???

TIA

That dosnt appear to be a normal setting for IE. I have 5.5 sp2 on my win2k machine and I dont have that option. Maybe a thrid party app installed it?

Remove Specific Internet Explorer Toolbar Buttons (All Versions)

These settings allow you to hide and disable specific buttons on the Internet Explorer toolbar.

Open your registry and find the key below, creating it if it does not already exist.

Create a new DWORD value called "SpecifyDefaultButtons" and set it to "1" to enable the removal of buttons.

In addition create a new DWORD value and set the value to "2" for each button you want to remove from the list below.

Btn_Stop
