I want to make it clear that CPU size and RAM are not the only factors involved in deciding your RWIN. I ask because it is a fast way while you are here, you may change it at any time to anything you wish:) :)

I second that, there are MANY factors that effect how you find the best RWIN for your set up. Your OS, cpu, RAM, ISP's caps, quality of servers and lines, quality of hardware (NIC & modem), ALL these things come into play when determining the optimum RWIN for each connection. The ONLY way to find the best RWIN is try MANY different ones and see what works best for you personally, it takes time, patience and testing but once you have found what works best you will get the most out of your connection. Just remember there are alot of other settings that effect your download speed and web browsing other than RWIN, so keep an open mind and try them ALL.:) :) :D ;)

I third that?! Your OS and various hardware drivers are the main determinants of how EVERYTHING on your machine functions both as separate components and as a total unit. To exclude these factors when deciding how to tweak anything on your comp is just silly.

May I get a fourth for that?! Your OS, how fast your processor chip and motherboard is, how much ram you have, your line condition, how good and stable your pings are, ISP's caps, and NIC drivers will play a role into tweaking your computer for broadband connections. Try different rwin numbers if you have to, and to make sure to find a rwin number that fits you...
