How does it stack up against norton and mcafee. I had it for a shoprt period with windows 98SE. Does it detect viruses well? And whats the site for AVG :D

EDIT: Do you guys believe AVG is beter than AntiVir(http://www.free-av.com/)?

If i thought any other Anti-Virus was better than AVG, well i'd use it rather than AVG.

Most forums you read AVG is mentioned every where and is used by most in the know!!

I haven't seen any real bad points about it and luckily enough I've never had to use it.

But the best ever Anti-Virus which is also free is yourself!!! Don't open any attachments in E-mail from peeps you don't know and don't put any disks in from unknown sources, A anti-virus program to me is just a back up, i'm the first line of defense on my PC.

Hmmmmmmmmmm
I think aletank is doing very well in addressing this issue.
Congratulations my friend.
If we use the premise that the only safe PC is one that is turned off and not on the net.
Both NAV and Mcafee have associated costs and at the end of the subscription there is added costs involved.
They are both excellent products and I use NAV on some of my PC's, but AVG is used for the majority of PC I control.
The salient points to consider are does it check your emails before you get infected?...YES AVG DOES.
Does it monitor all extensions..YES (If you tell it to do so)
Does it do exclusions...YES (if you tell it to)
Do you get updates...YES
Is there any additional costs...NO (but if you don't use an AV you will have grief, eventually...it is a matter of when, not if)...then it is YOUR cost of time and resources.
:p
