I have been using ZA for a couple years. I recently moved to Asia to work for a year and brought my machine with me. I was unable to get a cable connection here but the ADSL I could get is pretty quick. I had cable back in Canada. Since moving here I have had a persistent problem. When I engage the internet lock in ZA and then disengage it to log onto the internet, I can't log on to my home page. I get a message that says "DNS server error". I have to shut down and restart to log on. Anyone have any idea why? Thanks.

I am not sure on this one, but you may want to add your DNS server to your ZoneAlarm Local zone. Just a thought...
Do you try to connect to your DNS server through a numerical addy or a named addy? If a domain name or named addy is it in English or Asian?
Also, I am not sure on ADSL, but was wondering your lease for your IP was expiring while you were not connected and it takes a bit longer to get another IP...
Is your IP static or dynamic?
Just trying to make a connection of sorts in my head that is still spinning from the doctor this morning.
Let me do a little searching later today...

Sorry, I'm no whiz at this. How do I tell if its numerical or named?

What is your OS? You can usually find out your DNS server through the Network Properties in Control Panel regardless of the OS. In Win9x you can find the number by opening a Run box and entering "winipcfg".

I'm running W98. I checked. It looks like its a numeric address and static. Does that help?

Try to enter that numerical address into your ZA Local Zone. It is under Security | Advanced. It is worth a try...
