If all your computer are located behind Linksys BEFSR41 broadband router, would it be better to install the patch from speedguide, or is it better to leave it alone?? I was told that the patches offered in this site are for computer that are directly connected to the internet via cable modem or DSL not via router... is this right??
Thanx
I don't know a ton about the Linky router, but the cable tweaks will still apply whether you're behind a router or not. MTU, I believe is more set by the router than by the connected computer, but most routers let you tweak from within.
Best thing though, is to check your live connection speed as compared to what you're capped at. If you're maxing out your caps, and not having any other issues, then there's no need to tweak anything as you can tweak past your caps.
just go to the router options and a the botom there is an option that says "MTU" select enable and as you have cable set it to 1500 and if you had dsl it would be 1492 thats all you have to do
