how many work units or what ever can i download at one time. i have 2 rigs running g@h right now but i have no router so i leave the faster one connected to the net and plug the other one in when i want to upload.

sometimes on the older rig , i will not be able to get it connected for the upload and it will finish one algorithm and then start another one but i am not sure if it just redoing the same one.

how can i tell or can i download more than one algorithm at a time?

From the G@H faq:

i) Caching - If you can't connect to the Genome@home server (it's down, or you're offline) when it's time to deposit finished work, you'll get a few PutWork error messages. After twenty minutes, Genome@home will give up, store the results on disk, and rerun the work units you've already got. Since the results are different each time Genome@home runs, this is completely equivalent to downloading brand new work units. The client will continue rerunning work units (potentially for weeks, if you're on vacation or something) until it is able to connect to the server, at which time it will upload all the results to the server, and you will get credit for the total of all the work units processed.

Screw it, I'll just say it because I am bored.

I plan on taking a stripped down Linux based computer, and turning it into an Mp3 player for my car, following these instructions: http://neon.mp3car.com/index.html .

So, what I'm thinking, it putting G@H on that, and letting it run for like 6 months, move it into my house, allow it to upload all of it's results, then shoving it back in the car.

I am thinking a P133mhz, 64mb RAM using Red Hat Linux.
1.3gb hd for Linux, 10-20gb for Mp3's.

I wonder how big a HDD you would need to store so many "units"???

hmm...didn't think of that. Maybe instead of the 1.3, i'll just use my old 10gb drive for that.

I have no idea how much space each "unit" takes up , but very curious ?? hmmmmmmmmmmm got an idea now ;)

Looks like it does...

Although perhaps there is some error, because the readings were at different places in the sequence.
