I recently installed self-install kit for Adelphia cable four days ago and it was very simple. My speeds have been good, averaging about 500 to 1000 kbs depending on the time of day of course. Today I installed a Linksys phoneline router HPN200. My computer is an XP connected through the ethernet to ethernet port, and the other computer (Win95 with PCI phone network card) is connected via the phone line. The hookup only took me about 30 minutes and everything seemed fine until I noticed a significant decrease in internet speed on both machines. I degraded to about 150 kbs to 300 kbs on both machines. After I unhooked the router, my connection went back to my normal fast speeds, so evidently it is the router, or how I screwed up the connection. I have DHCP enabled on the router, along with all of the other recommended settings. I am fairly clueless and new to networking. Is there anyone out there that would be so kind as to give me a few pointers. Thanks much in advance . Vanessa
