nimba32 fix?

A good friend of mine sent me an email yesterday saying he had this virus (nimba32) and that one of the guys he worked with had tryed to format his computer for him but was unable to (probably tring in the cmd prompt widow. lol)
Is there a download fix for this virus or is he better of fdisking everything and starting over. He has some weird hardware that I had trouble finding drivers for when I set his comp up last time. Biggest problem is he lives on the other side of the contry from me now.
