ok, well i hope this is the right one to put this in if it's not i apoligize. i just set up a cbl conn. for my cpus and am running through a d-link dl-704 router it says it has a built in firewall. i am not able to play alot of my games online and i belive this is y my quetion is is there any way to deactivate that firewall and just run my firewall through macafee ? thk u for any help
I'm not familiar w/ your router, but it should have a setting to permit gaming by forwarding the port that the game uses. If your router can do this it should be covered in the manual or at their website.

Try the following site for general information on your DI-704

The latest DI-704 firmware allows you to filter certain traffic. It should also allow port forwarding. If you are unsure of what ports to forward, try turning on the DMZ option for the DI-704 and assigning your computer the IP address of the DMZ computer. This should forward all unknown traffic to that machine while still providing you the anonymity of NAT.
