MSNP32.dll
I know MSNP32.dll is microsoft networks and the reason I dont have network neighborhood on desktop..Ive found MSNP32.dll on drivers.com and downloaded it into myWindows, windows/systems and windows/system32 folders and I still get the error..I tried extracting the files off Win98SE cd with no luck..

Sometimes if Windows networking components are not un-installed properly, you can get errors on bootup (several DOS errors, and a Windows error upon desktop).
I've found the quickest way to clear this in most cases, is to add the all the components (Client for MS, Client for Novell, all protocols)....reboot....then remove what you don't need....reboot.

Betcha. Funny thing, just came across that situation, some so called computer tech that used to take care of an account that I just rebuilt, he left a moo-moo Gateway computer the same way, half a dozen networking files referred to in system.ini and registry, including the two you just mentioned above.
Is Gateway still in business???
