My clock time keeps changing on my task bar... i set it where it should be and something is changing it.
Can anyone help.? Using Norton security.. also file and print sharing to another computer.bount to netbeiu etc passes security sites.

When the time keeps going out of wack like you described, it is usually an indication that the CMOS battery needs replaced.

Have a look in your motherbaord manual for instructios on how to change it, and what battery you need to buy to replace it.

First check in the BIOS setup over a period of time to see if the BIOS is keeping correct time. If the BIOS time isn't right, then it's definitely the CMOS battery.

I dont think thats it.. but I will check.
this computer isnt that old. I ran my security to higher settings and turned off java stuff. and the date hasnt changed, yet.

date and time changed.. that was early today now it seems to be ok

It is not a security threat ....
An intruder wouldn't get on your system to change the time. ;)

I didnt go into the bios.. I did find my clock was on PM not AM
It has been working right since I changed that.. and set norton to higher settings. dunno :) Thanks tho!
