I upgraded to Windows XP Pro last week. I am using a DSL connection. I can browse with no problems. But, when I try to download with a FTP client I get weird problems.

I have tried 3 different FTP clients (BPFTP, FLashFXP, and CuteFTP). I will try to download for example 40 -- 15 Megabyte files, and it will go fine. Then after say 10 of those files the speed will drop to 0k/sec and eventually time out. Then, when I try to resume the file it won't allow me. IT will say "Data connection opened.." and it will just freeze.

Please help!

this is simple .. go buy the game and don't d/l it :D

does this problem only happen on one site or all sites? dosn't sound like a "client" problem ... rather the remote sever.

I use FXP on winXP no problems what so ever, what do you have set for file exists options in FXP?

It could also be that your FTP client(s) need to use passive FTP transfers (which is usually the case if you or the server you are trying to download from is behind a firewall or uses certain gateway configurations). There should be a way to "activate" passive transfers in your FTP client--perhaps, in the "advanced settings".
