Connection keeps dropping with attbi

Hello folks,

I'm running a PIII 1ghz machine with 512mb ram and Windows XP Professional.

I've been losing connection every 5 minutes or so and to recover from that, I either have to reboot my pc or do a ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew. That will keep me up for another 5 minutes or so.

I've called attbi for help, but as we all know about their support, their answer just sucked. My DNS is set at obtain DNS servers automatically.

Could anyone of you help? Does my DNS cache have anything to do with it?

Check and see if the "DNS CLIENT" is running. If it is set it to MANUAL and STOP the service.

Okay then, STOP and then set the service to MANUAL like MtCableman suggested. Did that help?
