Desktop.ini
There are several of these. Basically these are files that set properties of programs that can run on your desktop. This includes every visual program you run on your computer. They sort of tell Windows where parts of code are and what parts to use. A useful note: Don't mess with these.
FB Files:
FB files are FeedBag files. I'm not totally sure if their uses vary, but basically the store general information about your comptuer, and send them to ISPs. They often include things like CPU speed, what type, what family. Also they can sometimes contain information about parts of your ISP. For instance, ICQ sets on up on your computer, this file keeps general info about your computer, and you ICQ number and other various pieces of information (some of it is encoded).
Hope this helps.
It's the thumbnails database, which is used to enable thumbnail viewing. See this (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwebtool/html/webview.asp) for more info.
