I have about a 30 second wait on bootup..terribly unpleasant. I found a program called bootlog analyzer for Win95/98. It gives times for all of the items in bootlog.txt. I found that my Sound Blaster initiation takes 14 seconds to load.
The program also gave me a list of items that failed to load including VIAGART...an AGP driver for a VIA chipset. But, I do not have a VIA chipset. Do I need this VIA file? Would a program (DVD software?) install VIA files on in my system folder just in case I had the chipset? I just don't understand why it is there.
I really want to know if I can remove it. Any input?
