My clock on my cpu seems not to be working right. (The clock on the bottom right corner of my desktop). Just a few days ago my clock would go wrong, so i messed with it and it still goes wrong.
I would change it to the right setting click apply>ok.
I live in Texas and have it set like this:
(GMT-06:00)Central Time(US&Canada)
is this right?
I've experienced the same thing before, and it was due to a bad clock battery on the motherboard. You might try replacing it.

Wouldn't that also be the same battery that manages the CMOS? Not that it'd be a real killer to your comp, but you'd have to setup the BIOS again.

In my experience, a quick change of batteries won't affect it...the CMOS information will usually be cleared after a short time (within a minute or so I believe) without the battery, but since it's easy to put a new one in it likely won't.

where can i find info on replacing the battery?
Youcan find the info in your motherboard manual.
If you don't have the manual it should be available for download at the manufacturers site.

Check your motherboard manufactures web site.
It's probably a Lithium CR-2032 button battery.
Replacement is simple if you don't have a problem taking your case apart to get to the motherboard.
F.Y.I. When I had to clear my CMOS, I had to have the computer unplugged and the battery out of the holder for a full 30 minutes before my CMOS reset. Just to be on the safe side. Before you start, go into your bios and write everything down. It's a long process, but worth it! ;)

If you try clearing your cmos, taking the battery out is oneway. But keep reading your manal for your board. I have a switch on my board that clears the cmos. This makes it so you do not have to remove the battery. Just a thought! GoodLuck!;)

I bought a new battery and replaced the old one.
Now everything works fine.
I thought i would have to reconfigure my bios but everything booted right up normally.
That was easy:)
thanks everyone.
