Computer went slowmode

I don't know why or how it happened, but my computer (only running on the XP side) seemed to have slowed down alot...it sounds like its working alot too, when nothing much is going on outside, and memory (I have litestep so it says that I have around 30-40% used ram) is fine...I'm scanning for a virus now, and its only on my XP side, not my ME side..anyone know what gives?

Have you tried checking the xp side for errors on the drive. It may also need you to check your temp files and explorer cache. This will sometimes slow down windows also try a defrag if possible for winxp. This may speed things backup. Hope this helps out a lttle!:) Plus have you added any new software programs recently. They may be conflicting with another one. Plus also try running a repair on your explorer. To make sure it is running smoothly. Sometimes if it is not working right windows will slowdown.

good lord your prob is that you dont have enough memory win xp initially snatches ALL 128mb u need at least 64 mb to run 2 apps and for games you need and extra 128mb also that noise you hear what you call working is cause since there is no memory left it uses the hard to store memory which is a trillion times slower
