wow. I'm running sygate and I was going through my logs. I was pinged by 24.51.94.156 to port 2301 over 250 times!!!

I need to learn to hack. (and attack.)

Sygate is doing it's job and stopped the pings, but if your ISP needs to ping you for service reasons it may be better to make a rule for that IP address and allow it. Of course, that's assuming Adelphia and your connection are related.

I wouldn't really worry too much about what happens once Sygate is firing on all cylinders. Unless the hits are constant and milliseconds apart let Sygate do it's job and leave it in the background.

You wouldn't do this but it's surprising the number of people send out abuse@ emails over the results they see in logs that have come from Security Scans.
