Hi! I'm in the process of switching to sygate freeware edition. I'm curious what's the difference? Besides the fact one of them cost over 40.
Don't know OTD but I am sure there will be a page at their site that will do the hardsell on the Pro version for you.
When you set Sygate up, you may find it worthwhile to read the Unofficial Sygate site. Go to: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/susan.todd3/index.htm
Enjoy.

Michelle, compare the free version info with the page linked below.

Me thinks there is some differences but whether they would be needed is the question. Home use including a home network.... Nah.
Free edition will give you all you want.
I am running Winroute and I get "closed" on all ports scanned. You should get at least a "Stealth" result set at default.
Crocedit.
Hey OTD
The free version is just fine...you don't have to spend the $40 for the PRO version....it will still give you terrific protection.
All the links provided to you from croc are great to read up on the Program.
You will not be diappointed in the Sygate Firewall.
There is one note of caution ....some of their products do not work with XP..... I know Version 5.0 does work with XP.
BTW ...OTD.....I don't believe you and the grasping of Network Protocols...you seem to be doing very well with your server.
HAHAHAHAHA :D
