i ran folding 1.0 for a long time last year, got up over 1000 units
then left folding to do united device's cancer research as part of a competition with some friends...than ended last month so i re-downloaded folding (now 2.0) but it seems like all the posts here are about genome @ home
just curious why people seem to have moved on to that...give me a good reason and i'll move my two pc's over to genome (athlon xp1800+ & p3-600)

I think that the numbers are fairly even between the two. I left F@H quite a while back when they put a time limit on returning work because the xtra boxens I was using at the time couldn't meet the time limit (couple of old P75/90's).
With G@H no time limit and I think maybe we are a little more "vocal" as a team.
You would be MOST welcome to switch over. Both projects serve worthy purposes, so it would really be up to you as which project means the most you.

I believe Lukeman explained it well ...

i've been doing folding for a few weeks now - had to reinstall xp last week but i've done ~75 workunits under the speedguide team (#15)
just noticed that most of the traffic in the forum seemed tobe about genome

also philip - any way i can get that custom avatar without hitting 100 posts - i'm too lazy to go spam the off topic forum
just checked the stats page - and i'm in the top-10...that's part of the reason i thought people had left folding...i was surprised how quickly i moved up the charts (and with only my xp1800 running most of the time)...did the stats get reset at some point ??
Well, it just that our Folding2 team is small, some people moved over to Genome because of bugs in Folding2, units getting corrupt and such.
Oh and you do get to use a custom AV because you're in our team, hehe.

cool - thanks philip
my p3-600 has been offline for the last few weeks while i tinker with things - i'll try genome on that one when i get it back up & running
I also ran Folding@Home for quite a while...
I had 1347 units...
I switched over b/c I wanted to Genome some...
and back at the time when I switched the G@H team was REALLY small...
I was intending to go back to F@H for a little while and switch over every once in a while...but it seems a lot of ppls are having issues with F@H 2..so I will stay w/ G@H for now...
On the original version of Folding, I ran it with Genome, simultainiously, no problems...
However, with Folding2 and Genome running at same time, Folding2 slows to a crawl...
So, I started switching between them, however my Genome seems to have corrupted... :(
I need to reformat anyway and will not reinstall Genome until I do...
So, for now, I am Folding2 only. :)
Running either is appreciated as they both have the same goals, finding causes, curing and eliminating our worst diseases...
Also, being a part of our Teams entitles you to a custom status, team related... ;)
(below your name where yours says "Regular Member"...)
You can read some of our other Team members statuses to get an idea.
When you come up with one that you like, just let Philip or me know and we will change it for you. ;)
