Is there any way to limit bandwidth in a Windows 2000 computer? The reason is, I am running a shoutcast stream on another computer on the network...and when my Win2k box gets bandwidth happy, it starts messing with the stream causing it to skip and jump because it cannot upload fast enough.

So I thought limiting the bandwidth on THIS machine would keep the intereferences from happening.

Thanks.

You can try lowering the RWIN on your Windows 2000 box. Go into your registry, and into this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CURRENTCONTROLSET/SERVICES/TCPIP/PARAMETERS

Add a DWORD string called TcpWindowSize, and assign it a decimal value of something below 64240. Try 8192, and work your way up depending on how fast you want it to be.

There's probably some kind of QOS packet scheduler in W2K....especially if you're running server. I haven't administrated any W2K boxes, but any server OS should have that feature.
