Hi guys,
I've recently been able to get 2 cable modems, I've heard that its possible to hook up 2 cablemodems into one computer, resulting in somewhat faster speed (splitting the workload onto 2 modems.) I'm on Win98. What I wanted to ask is can you do it? If so, how?
Thx :)

Welcome to Speed Guide. You might try athe search option to see what has been said on this before. Lots of good info.

Don't know of anyone that has seen a performance increase. Many have got it to work(both modems online and connected) using load balancing software but no performance increase. I'll try it one day.

dont you need 2 Isps for that?

It will simply increase the bandwidth available to you, useful if you download lots of files or have others in your network that do so as well. It won't speed up your connection.

Yeah its possible......
Here what you need to do
1st. Get 2 seperate accounts from your ISP, you'll need them in order for the cable modems to sync.
2nd. Shell out 400 bucks for the Nexland ISB Pro800turbo dual WAN port router. Which can be seen here...... http://www.nexland.com/products/product.cfm?id=4
Now will this give you more speed?? Probably not
Will it be worth it?? Probably not

That ISB Pro800turbo looks sweet ... but yes he should see a differance. Like MosDef112 said: it will increase his bandwith. Say he has 1.5 x 300k for service .. well double it 3.0 x 600k in a "ideal" situation and most likely will reach those speeds on big sites with plenty of bandwith.
