well the windows xp patch that optimises the settings should i install more?? I know i sound stupid by now iam good with putting computers together but when it comes with tweaking or advanced stuff that goes on in the os iam clueless
Download SG Optimizer to your desktop, select connection type at top, select optimal settings at bottom, click on apply changes at very bottom and REBOOT
If you wish to enter custom TCP recieve window select custom settings at bottom, enter what you wish, click on apply changes at bottom and REBOOT.
If using Cablenuts adjuster too, you must first bring up adjuster, click on clear all boxes at bottom and reboot, then download and install optimizer.
For WIN 2000 & XP -If you want faster loading of web pages select custom settings at bottom, other settings at top, LAN Speedup=yes, apply changes at very bottom. REBOOT
Select adapter you are using
Optimizer in signature:)

You could switch to RASPPPoE which only has one advantage letting you get an MTU of 1492. This is only an advantage if you literally max out every bit of your connect with the native PPPoE in XP. And if you do use every single bit of bandswidth you will only get a .5% (yes a half of 1%) speed increase by having an MTU of 1492.
