I am a w2000 user
My computer share internet conection with other computers, so i got 2 lan cards.
card no 1 > cable modem.
card no 2 > hub.

everything works fine but unless i try to use some software,,
Such as some games likes nascar4,half-life .etc:

when i want to host a game, in the game always shows my ip address is 192.168.0.1( lan card no.2) BUT i want to play with my friends from oversea. Which mean i need to set my ip(set to lan card no.1) in the game. I can only set my ip address in rainbow siX (because it's a option in r6) but i can't find this option in other games.
SO......
Can any good man can help me:

1. How to set 1 ip address(to cablemodem) as default???(i've tried to change card 1 conect to hub and card 2 conect to cablemodem, but not very much help because i also play games with my friend who share internet conection from me....)

2. Can i play games(TCP/IP) in my home network and also play with internet's friends???? (i host then they join me, using both IPs)

3. Is that any dos cmd can do that?

Thanks for reading!!!!If you feel my questions' too easy, please reply me!!! This is a good chance to be a life saver@@^~

You should try posting this in Game Forum also. Because it may have to be specified when creating the game server.

When I used ICS I never tried to Host, so I doubt I will be able to help much. Even now with a router I only have 120Kbps upload so I don't bother hosting.

Have you tried emailing them your WAN IP so they can try Connecting directly to it?

I have a control system with 12 rigs each having 2 NICS; one LAN only has the 12 rigs plus the controllers on it, and the other is our Facility LAN. I did this for redundancy in case of any failure in the control Network I would still have a path thru Facility network. That is the nice thing, it is transparent and it will pick a path automatically. All that being said I have never given much thought to dedicating a path; it will be nice to hear if there are multiple solutions to your problem.

Swap the IPs of your NICs around, and reconfigure your software if you share with a private LAN. Sometimes this helps.
