Anyone have any luck with home networking and VPN? I have a small home network with a linksys router - works fine - both machines can connect to the internet - I also use a CISCO VPN client to connect to work , which also works, but when the VPN connection's up, the pc running VPN can't see/connect/ping etc the other pc's on my home lan. I was wondering if I could mess with the routes to get this working, but I am a little lost as I do not think the VPN "routes" show up when I do a route list.
Thanks.

I am not positive, but I believe you need a second NIC - one for each network that you are connected to. Even that may not work, though. If you were allowed to bring other machines onto the secure network (using your primary machine as a proxy/bridge), there wouldn't be much point to having the VPN at all...
Someone else may have an answer for you, but it does seem to defeat the purpose.
Have fun,
Skye

I'm not trying to bring the rest of my machines into the secure net, I just want to still be able to access the local machines while connected to my net at work via vpn.

it turns out I was looking in the wrong place - the next version of the vpn client has option to see local net's pcs - thanks
