You will need to host a web server on the computer that you want to host. You will then need to foward port 80 from the router to the server.
For servers, the OS of choice is either Linux (yeah!) or Windows 2K Advanced Server.
The server of choice is Apache (http://www.apache.org), which is what I use.

IF you are on @home/Cox.net - give up now. They have port 80s inbound traffic BLOCKED at their routers. They do this to limit two-way bandwidth.
Crappy thing to to do their customers. :(

first off, find your local ip address by going to start>run>winipcfg on windows 98/ME or goto start>run>cmd and in the command prompt type ipconfig there you will see an ip address of 192.168.1.10* remember the last 3 digits (or write it down if you need to)
if you arent behind @home or whatever goto internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. goto the "advanced settings" tab (far right). then goto the forwarding tab. where it says IP ADDRESS in the first box type your ip address. then in the port range type 80~80 click save, continue, then exit
good luck, keep us updated
