NAV OEM Version - How many days ??

I've just loaded Norton Antivirus from the OEM disk that came with my Mobo. I know how to find how many days are left in NAV 2000 but it seems they did not put it in the same place with 2001. Could it be that it is possibly not initiated until you go to "live update" ???

Do I get a full year with the OEM ver. ?

I just worked on a bunch of Dells which were new June of last summer, a company moved into my area and I setup the network. They had OEM Norton 2001, the starting date was 06/23/01 or something, and they had already expired, I could not update them any more.

2001 did a great job of automatic live update in the background....go into Options and turn it on. 2002 got much better also, especially for e-mail protection, it now scans outgoing SMTP as well as POP3, so it prevents you from spreading a virus, as well as downloading one. As long as you setup the e-mail protection.

Usually it's 90 days.

2001 is very easy to trick. You don't need any warez or cracks to extend the the liveupdate subscription. All you need to do is delete one registry key, and your live subscription will reactivate.
