want to run off hard drive not cd

What do I need to do to get my games(Tomb Raider III,Age of Empires, etc.) to run directly off my hard drive and not off my cd?

When you insert the disk to install them select FULL install, it should give you a few options, install the whole game.:)

If the above doesn't work, or isn't an option, you can usually copy all the files off the CD to HD (in a folder) and run the setup.exe from there. That takes up a lot of space though.
It doesn't always work either, sometimes the game looks for files on the CDRom disk no matter where it is installed from.

use virtual drive. There are softwares that lets you make a virtual cd rom drive, meaning you will have another cd rom drive letter, but it will be a folder on the hard drive. Therefore it will make the game belive that the cd is inserted but the cd is really on the hard drive. This is very popular with copy protected cds people who couldn't make a copy of a game they would put it on the harddrive instead.

i did that for the blue shift half-life mod.
