I'd be most appreciative if I could get some questions answered, and even personal experiences are welcome.

I'll be getting my own place a week from today, one of the reasons for choosing these apartments is that they offered free basic cable, which is required when ordering COX RoadRunner in my area, Wichita KS. Currently at the house I'm living in, I get a decent 50-100ms latency times depending on what time of day it is. Is being an apartment going to suck for my gaming pleasures? I know that I will be sharing the bandwidth with other people in my apartment complex, but is there anything I can do if it pretty bad? Any personal stories are well appreciated, and thanks in advance.

I have seen alot of crazy cable running in apartments. Senn like three or so apartments running off the same line cause someone splits it so they dont have to pay. Just make sure you have nothing like that going on in your apartment.

As to the bandwith, thats hard to say. But even where you live now you are sharing bandwith with all your neighbors. They probaly go off the same tap, even if noone else had online service from your tap I am sure you were not the only one on the node witch makes a difference. So cross your fingers and hope that everything is ok at the new place!! Good luck!!:)

Not to worry, I moved into an apartment a year ago and my service was generally the same. Yes you do get a little slower compared to an installation at your home but I think it's more of an issue with older splitters and cabling in the apartment buildings theirselves and not so much an overcrowded node issue. Either way it's faster than dial up and look on the brightside you're getting free basic cable :)
