i'm trying to host a game (delta force 2) on my college's T1 network. the apartment that i'm in uses a router. when i put a server up, 3 of them come up and no one can enter any of them.
i was just wondering if it was because of the router or because i'm not assigned a specific ip. i need help in doing this so if anyone has any suggestions, please help me out. i'm thinking that i need to get around the router someway but i don't know how.

what kind of router ?? I don't know about college networks but I would assume it is possible to host on them. It doesn't matter if you have a static ip or dynamic ip as long as you have an ip.
I would guess you need to forward a port but I don't know which port Delta Force 2 uses.

Alright bro here's your problem; most routers have inbuilt firewalls. Now, to be able to host games there are at least 3 possibilites. 1. you go into your router setup disable the DHCP and NAT and etc., and put in the real ips.(Right Click My Network Places->Properties-> TCP/IP) But u have to know the Subnet Mask, IP Address, and Gateway. Now, I bet your ip starts with 192 or 191(i.e.192.168.1.1) which are assigned ips from your router. (to access your router: you put on any browser you have the gateway; for example, 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.1.254. However, every router has its own ips but most start with 192 and end at 1 till 253.
2. U can go into your router setup, and input the game's port that u using(if u have that option)
3. Ask whoever installed your router in the apartment to configure your stuff for ya since I doubt u will have access to the routers configurations if it has username and admin password setup.

I went to my routers setup and input my ip and disabled the dhcp and NAT, which i had installed; however, it can have a different name for the NAT and etc.
