hey, i have a cable modem with a netgear router. I thought that I could not host in Rogue Spear (MSN Gaming Zone), due to the router and firewall inside my router. But I found out that my friend has a router and 3 firewalls, and he hosts fine. He said that it has something to do with opening up ports and port forwarding. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

Try opening up port 2346 in/out TCP.
Also, put the hosting computer in DMZ mode.

go to 192.168.0.1, then advanced then ports, add the starting port as 2346 and the ending port as 2346, the server ip address should be the ip of the pc that's hosting the game.
click apply and your done.
:)
edit: ok those should be close to the right directions, I was telling you how I did it with my netgear rp114.

Question:
Does the FR314 Firewall Router support DMZ?
Answer:
No! Some routers allow the user to specify one server on the local network to receive all inbound traffic that is not otherwise forwarded. This feature is referred to as Default Server, DMZ (a misnomer in this application), or Bastion Host.
By indiscriminately exposing all ports of the designated PC, the user defeats the purpose of a hardware firewall and creates a large security risk. Therefore this feature is not supported in this product. We recommend that the user determine which ports are actually used by network applications, and only forward those ports that are necessary.
you will need to find where you can forward the 2346 port for the pc that is hosting. I can't find a manual for your router so I can't give you an exact answer on where to do this.
read my above post ^^, it may give you an idea where to look.
should be in the admin page

I don't have RS installed right now so I can't say for sure but look in the options screen and see if there is a firewall setting. I'm running out of ideas.
