I am unable to increase my RWIN beyond 64240 on my WinNT system. I use the TCPoptimizer.exe program, but the "window scaling" checkbox option is greyed out, so I cant set the scaling. Is there a MS Vtcp386 fix or something similar available for Windows NT to enable me to select a scaled RWIN value?

I know that a high RWIN value may probably not do anything to improve the performance, but I am just curious to try it.

Thanks in advance.

That is the max for NT4

With NT 4.0, you'll want to service pack it to 6.0a, then get the rest by hitting up windowsupdate.microsoft.com. Two major downloads, 14 or so megs each, the security rollout update is basically the unofficial service pack 7. After those two, and many other small ones from that same site, your basic system will be patched for security and performance. Other services, like IIS, etc, need their own patches.

Thanks for the replies. I do have service pack 6a installed along with the latest critical patches and updates.

If 64240 is the max for NT4.0, would you recommend that I use Windows 98 with a high RWIN instead for potentially faster internet access?
