CS Tips?

I'm coming from UT and everything is different. What guns and equipment should I buy and use? What should my combat tactics be like, strafe and shoot, crouch, crouch and strafe, etc? The only thing I know is to shoot in bursts.

Well with rifles if you can it's better to crouch shoot, stand still if possible when firing. With SMG's it's better to move around as much as possible fire while strafing, crouch jump shooting, etc. In the SMG class I like the p90 and mp5, in the rifle class I like the ak-47 and the colt. I suggest trying all the weapons just to get a feel for them, and to find which weapons your most comfortable with.

The thing that helped me the most, BURST SHOTS!

Lets say your using the AK-47, If I guy is kinda far away, dont go full auto, stay in one spot, crouch if you can, and shoot about 2 bullets every 3-5 seconds. This will keep your recoil down and make your shots very accurate. He will be hitting you too and you will be temped to go full auto (Atleast I am) but do burst shots.


If a guy is close to you, go full auto and you will most likely headshot him :cool:

With SMG's, I more or less go full auto all the time. Or my burst shots are faster cause they suck at being accurate anyways.


SMG's = Spray and pray, best for close encounters
Riffles = Accuate as hell, good for sniping, mid range, and close up
Sniper guns = Only good for distance (duh) unless your draw your own crosshair like some people.

Its nice to throw a flash before you turn a corner, then when you turn it, they are sitting there blinded :D Ive used flashes alot lately.

Once you have a good handle on the guns then it is play time. Tactics are a big part of the game. You must learn every inch of each map, and understand how to get people to do what you want them to do so they are easy kills.

Learn to buy fast and get to a location that you can defend yourself at. Always listen and keep an eye on your radar. That will tell you if it is friend or foe coming up on you. Once you get good at it you will know exactly where they are. Then you can make a good decisions on you next move.

Close to the end of each round you are better to walk or Jump so you can hear your enemies. If you get good at jumping you can make no sound and move faster than walking.

All that said, when you get good at it, then be ready for people to say you’re a cheater. It is mostly the newbies saying it so if your kicking everyone’s butt be ready to be KICKED off the server.

I've noticed the radar too, but it just seems a little strange using it.

get to know the maps... look around every corner.. know where are the common camping spots...

burst... aim for shoulder .. it'll hit head... jump alot.. hehe.. crouch too... that's all I can say.. and keep yer ears opeend... hear footsteps.. if u hear some near.. and look at yer radar.. and it's not a teammate.. get ready to shoot.. that's all

jump before climping ladder
burst for riffles, about 3 shots
listen to sounds
dont rush, in a round take your time
reload after a kill, if its safe
dont cheat
tweak cs
dont jump and shoot

What equipment and guns and stuff should I buy?

He gernades are good and so are Flash gernades

weapons-

T - Ak48
Ct- Colt w/ sliencer

Mp5 navy (sub machine) is a good gun for any map

If you want headshots, aim for the head :) It takes getting used to having a small target, but it is worth it. With rifles from distance, aim for the head 2 shot burst and bye bye bad guy. With the mp5, circle strafe around the person while holding down your mouse button with your hairs at about head lvl. Very good likelyhood of a quick HS. Learn the Deagle, it's a great backup.

Lastly, play with those better than you so you can watch 1337 people and see how they work their magic :)

one good thing about Deagle is it can shoot through boxes and doors and walls like rifles.

In other words if you see someone trying to hide behind a box and you have a rifle,,, just shoot at box you will get the kill sooner or later.

CLimbing ladders also croucth while climbing it will be quite :D
