View Full Version : The registry tweak for web connection is unreliable!
Hi,
The reg tweak that is supposed to enable faster loading of page is unreliable. Once the tweak was applied, for those pages with many little thumbnail pics, some pics would not load and they are random...the problem immediately disappear once the tweak is undone.
Well since it works for me and alot of others would lead me to believe it's on your end:)
i tend to believe what you said ;) , but have you tried loading and refreshing some webpage with many little thumbnails pics on it (100+ )? even so, it may not happen so often though...
Mine works fine, what numbers do you have in their, try downloading TCP optimizer from my sig:)

I had the same problem so I got rid of it.

I have applied the optimum settings as suggested by Optimizer , here is the TCP/IP analyser results:
TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
Hmm, something fishy here, works for most people but not ya'll, to much tweaking maybe:)
This make broswing alot faster,
Open up the Registry and go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace
Under that branch, select the key :
{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}
and delete it.
:) :)
Type REGEDIT in run box to open registry:)
Actually, if you try lowering the numbers via TCP Optimizer, you might see a greater difference, since your connection might not have been able to handle the multiple connections.
