I have an Intel 1.5 GHZ CPU, 512MEG 700MHZ RDRAM 7200 RPM hard drive, GeForce 256/w32MEG Video Ram, Kingston network card, Cable Modem.

And high ping rates (usually 150-200), also the FPS is normally running in the neighborhood of 60 to 70.

What can I do to improve my Return to Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer experience?

I have already updated the video drivers and set the game options to lower rather than higher settings. I have overclocked the video card 30% from the recommended setting, doing this did not do a lot to help the FPS.

I seem to do more dying than killing if you get my drift. I can't seem to hit the target.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may try the Tweaking section of Speedguide.net (http://speedguide.net) to try to help with the ping.

If your overclocking the card did not do anything, set it back to normal.

As for you dying alot, that just means you need practice.

LOL practice! Yea :-)

But the other guys have the ability to hit me. I can't hit them enough. (more practice? ;-)

They seem to be able to take more damage than me OR I'm missing them.

I'm hoping it's lag. causing my shots to fall behind the target.

Its difficult to determine if that's what is happening.

300 up, 1500 down

I have tweaked the registery and realised a small amount of improvement. but I'm afraid it isn't going to be enough.

do a tracert to the game server you are playing on and post it.

23 hops to the server is not the best in the world.

did you chop some of the tracert results off?

anyway by the look of what you posted your problem is all upstream. Looks like the data is getting queued up at Hops 11 and 13. Meaning you need to find servers closer to you. Or take you thru a different path.

Possibly over time they will correct the problems.

Thanks for the replies. I've decided to only use servers with low pings. Since I started using the traceroute progy I have not had any trouble.

Thanks again.
