Hi there,
How would you set registry tweaks when playing online e.g. HL, UT, etc. Are those speedguide's generic registry patches good for cable when thinking ping and packetloss in games? For example: should the MTU size be smaller than in the patches etc? Why I ask this is that here in Helsinki the cable is quite laggy and pings are already quite high during daytimes (80...150).

So basicly the qestion should be: how to get smaller ping-times in online gaming with cable? =)

My experience has been...to use a good NIC like a 3COM or Intel, install it properly (no IRQ sharing), use the latest drivers, run your Windows updates, have a good switch/router like a Nexland, or NetGear. Have your network components/protocols leaned out.

Haven't seen those MTU and registry tweaks do jack diddley squat to help online gaming. And, well, the fluctuation of cable performance is out of your control. Can't tell your entire neighborhood node to stay offline.
