microcrap cant do anything right especially when they boast windows xp
"now the new windows media player 8 can play dvd's"(when configured with a 3rd party dvd player) DUH then media player CANT play dvd's if you need a 3rd party NO WINDOWS is perfect
windows 95 always crashed 98 had flaws Me had the abilty to play dvds out the box WITHOUT NO 3rd party dvd decoder but enven that system had the biggest memory leak (seriously) games would run for 5 minutes with needing all 256 mb of the latest greatest rambus 400mhz (expensive!!!)
can microcrap DO ONE THING RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also IF microsoft came out with a New OS Lets say Windows You!

I wonder if another big corporation will ever write a new OS that takes off like windows did, and put MS in the "Minor League"
Linux is trying, but still a ways to go to capture the ease of use windows has. But Linux has no huge corporate backer.

Why would they,Norm?
Regardless of what was put out there, the OS they developed would always be in the minor league because Microsoft has been out there for so long.
What big corporation would be prepared to employ the numbers of writers required to accomplish this and wear the losses during development.
Return on investment would be too slow for the demands placed on companies by major shareholders and they would lose the investment dollar.
Microsoft (?)is(?) doing something about this though if this report (http://www.silicon.com/public/door?6004REQEVENT=&REQINT1=50311&REQSTR1=silicon.com) is to be believed. I guess they have to start somewhere, eh?:rolleyes: :nod:

media player plays DVD"s fine, it's what I use. all you need is a registry edit to make the change.
