I have read that microsoft has now acknowledged a known issue with xp and nvidia.

SO WHAT DO I DO ABOUT THIS:
Computer restarted after an unexpected shutdown. Microsoft Windows detected a possible device failure.

The driver for the display device was unable to complete a drawing operation. Please check with the device manufactuer for a driver update.

The display driver for Nvidia Riva TNT 2 Model 64/64 Pro seems to be responsible for the instability.

WHAT CAN I DO?

What motherboard do you have and whats the chipset on the mother board?

Get the latest drivers for your video card and apply this refresh rate fix: http://www.ntcompatible.com/article.php?sid=6643

I run XP home, and an Geforce 3 ti 500. No problems at all with them. Not sure of the board manufacture (It's a Dell), but it's the Intel 850 chipset. And Im running the latest detonator drivers.
