Take two offices, both having networks behind a broadband router. I'm having them hope to get a static IP from each DSL setup, and do the PcAnywhere file transfer, but just as a backup, anyone have good experience with say a free or even paid for secure website site to deposit large files on from site A, then have site B logon, and gain access to them? These are large files, so e-mailing back and forth with pop internet accounts pretty much will not work.

This may be off subject but what about removable harddrives?

Sign them up for DYNS services .. free dynamic hostnames. They update on the fly and me personaly have never had a problem with the service.

Then they can use PC Anywhere to the hostnames....

Tnx for the replies...

Removable HD's...gotta be multiple transfers randomly throughout the day...these are architect drawings that get shuffled back and forth as ideas are sketched out and reviews by other architects...so you see the need for retrieving files on demand is important.

DYNDNS...they have static IP accounts for the DSL....so there's no problem hitting a moving target, PcAnywhere file transfer should work OK. I'm just looking for another means, I'd rather not load the PcA host on the server at site A, and all other design workstations are used, so this person coming in random times per day would be a pain for other users.

Hmmm...no experience in FTP servers...but site A has an NT 4 domain controller, no IIS, don't want IIS and it's headaches there. Any good FTP programs I could pop on the server that are reliable and secure, that work OK through broadband routers (Linksys in this case) Perhaps site B can FTP client into site A's FTP host.
